A candle is heavy, and glass moving inside a loose box is how lids chip and labels scuff. The insert solves that. It cradles the jar, takes up the slack, and stops the candle from shifting when the parcel gets thrown around.

Pick a folding carton for a lighter retail box or a rigid build for a gift candle, then add the finish that matches your scent story.

  • Board or foam insert cut to your exact jar or tin
  • Folding carton or rigid wrapped build
  • Foil, emboss and spot-UV for scent and brand names
  • Kraft, white or colored stock to match the line

We sent them a candle jar and a Pinterest board. Two weeks later we had rigid boxes that made a $28 candle feel like a $60 one. Our repeat rate went up and honestly the box is half the reason.

Labels that survive a fridge, an ice bath, and a farmers market summer. We tested four suppliers; these were the only ones that did not lift.

Why candles need the insert

A candle is heavy and the jar is glass, so a loose box is a problem. Every bump in transit lets the jar shift, and a shifting jar chips lids, scuffs labels, and sometimes cracks. The insert is what stops that. It cradles the jar, fills the empty space, and holds everything still from the warehouse to the doorstep.

It also does something for the open. A jar sitting in a clean, fitted insert looks placed rather than packed.

Matching the insert to the jar

We cut the insert to your specific vessel, whether that's a straight-sided tumbler, a tin, or a wide three-wick. Two materials cover most needs:

  • Board inserts: a folded paperboard cradle, light and fully recyclable
  • Foam inserts: a die-cut foam seat for heavier or oddly shaped jars

For a more sustainable build, molded pulp is an option that skips foam entirely.

The box around it

The outer box can be a folding carton for a lighter retail candle or a rigid candle box for a gift-priced pour. Finish it to match the scent story: foil for the fragrance name, emboss for the logo, or a plain kraft candle box for a natural line.

Send us the jar dimensions and the look you're after. We'll build the insert and the box together, proof both, and run them as one set. Get a quote to price your candle line.
