Custom shipping boxes that survive the truck and sell the brand

There is a moment most brands never see: their box stacked nine high on a pallet, getting thrown onto a conveyor, dropped twice, and rained on at a sorting hub. A flimsy box fails there. A custom shipping box with the right flute and a crush rating built for the load shows up looking like it left your warehouse, with your logo still sharp on the side. That combination, real strength plus real branding, is the whole point.

Shipping boxes are the workhorse regular slotted containers (RSC) that handle the heavy lifting of getting product from A to B. The four flaps meet in the middle, top and bottom, and get taped shut. They are simple, they stack, and they are the most economical way to ship anything that needs a box around it.

Who uses custom shipping boxes

Ecommerce sellers of every size, from a small business shipping 20 orders a week to a brand moving thousands, use printed shipping boxes as their standard outer carton. Wholesalers and distributors use them as master cartons that hold smaller retail units. Furniture, electronics, home goods, pet supplies, and bulk food all travel in them. If your product is heavy, fragile, or just too big for a mailer, this is the box.

Plenty of small businesses start with plain boxes from the warehouse store and a sticker. The problem is the sticker peels, the box is the wrong size, and nothing about the delivery says who you are. A custom shipping box with your company logo printed straight onto the kraft fixes all three at once.

Materials and construction

The flute is the wavy fluted layer sandwiched between the liners, and choosing it correctly is most of the job:

  • E-flute: thin and smooth, best for light retail items and clean print
  • B-flute: a solid all-rounder for most product weights
  • C-flute: taller flute, more cushioning, common for general shipping
  • Double-wall (BC): two flute layers for heavy or freight-grade loads

Our standard corrugate is a 275# B-flute that is crush-tested, which handles the large majority of ecommerce products. Send us the weight you are shipping and we match the flute to it so you are not paying for board you do not need, or risking board that gives out. Order them in natural kraft or bright white, printed or plain.

Sizes and how to choose

A right-sized box is cheaper to ship and protects better. Carriers bill by dimensional weight, so an oversized box costs you on every single order even when it is light. Measure your product, add a half inch of clearance per side for protective fill, and pick the closest size up.

Our standard footprints run 6×4×2 in, 9×6×3 in, 12×9×4 in, and 15×12×5 in, and we cut custom sizes to whatever you ship. If your product is an odd shape, a custom size shipping box almost always beats jamming it into a stock box with a pile of void fill.

Printing and finishes

Print your logo and brand color directly on the corrugate in full color, inside and out. A single-color logo on kraft is the most cost-effective look and reads as honest and grounded. Full-color litho gives you photo-quality print across the whole box when you want maximum shelf or doorstep impact. Pair the box with branded packing tape and the seam becomes another place your name shows up.

You generally do not want gloss laminate or foil on an outer shipping box. It adds cost, it scuffs in transit, and the box is meant to take a beating. Save the premium finishes for the mailer or rigid box inside.

Minimum order, turnaround, and how ordering works

The minimum is 30 units. That matters most for a small business or a custom made batch, because most box plants will not run a custom print under several hundred. Starting at 30 lets you order exactly what a launch or a seasonal run needs.

Turnaround is about 10 days from approved artwork. Send your dimensions and logo, we return a free dieline and proof, you approve, we print and ship. Base pricing starts around $0.41 per unit and drops with volume, so custom shipping boxes wholesale orders of 1,000 or 5,000 reach a genuinely low per-box cost.

Sustainability

Corrugated is recycled-content and curbside-recyclable by default, and we print with water-based inks. If reducing waste is part of your brand promise, our eco shipping boxes use recycled, FSC-certified stock with the same crush rating, so you are not trading strength for sustainability.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get custom shipping boxes with my company logo?

Yes, printed directly onto the box in one color or full color. There is no need for stickers, and the print does not peel in transit the way a label does.

Do you make custom size shipping boxes?

We do. Stock footprints run from 6×4×2 in to 15×12×5 in, and we cut to your exact product dimensions when a stock size wastes space or fill.

Are these good custom shipping boxes for a small business?

That is exactly who the 30-unit minimum is for. You can order a small, fully branded run without committing to thousands of boxes you have nowhere to store.

Do you offer custom shipping boxes wholesale?

Yes. Per-unit pricing falls as quantity rises, so larger runs hit wholesale rates while staying fully custom printed.

Can these replace FedEx or carrier-supplied boxes?

For most shipments, yes, and a custom box usually fits your product better than a generic carrier box, which cuts your dimensional-weight cost.

How thick is the board?

Our standard 275# B-flute is roughly 3mm thick and crush-tested, which carries most ecommerce products. Heavier loads move up to C-flute or double-wall for more cushioning and stacking strength.

A note on packing

A good box is only half the job. Pack the product so it cannot shift, use the right amount of fill, and seal the seam with quality tape. Under-packing lets the contents bang around and undoes a strong box; over-packing wastes money and frustrates the customer. Match the fill to the product, and the box and the packing work together to land the order intact.
