The snap of a magnetic lid is the sound of a premium product. These rigid boxes hide two magnets in the flap so the lid closes flush and clean every time.

Wrap them in soft-touch paper, add foil and an insert, and you have packaging customers keep long after the product is out.

  • Concealed magnets for a flush, snap-shut lid

The magnetic boxes are the nicest thing about our subscription, and I say that as the person who makes the product. Zero damage across 3,000 shipments.

We sent them a candle jar and a Pinterest board. Two weeks later we had rigid boxes that made a $28 candle feel like a $60 one. Our repeat rate went up and honestly the box is half the reason.

How the closure actually works

Two neodymium disc magnets sit sealed under the wrap: one pair in the lid flap, one pair in the front wall. You never see them, you only hear them. The flap drops, catches a centimeter early and pulls itself shut with a soft clap. That self-closing action is the entire trick, and it is why this box style dominates influencer unboxings and corporate gifting.

The magnets are rated for thousands of open-close cycles, so the box keeps working long after the product is gone. Customers reuse them for storage, which keeps your logo on a shelf for years.

Build and wrap options

The shell is 1200 gsm greyboard, about 2 mm thick, wrapped by hand in the paper you choose. Soft-touch matte is the most ordered wrap; linen and kraft textures follow. Foil stamping, blind embossing and spot gloss all sit well on the lid, and the interior wraps in a contrast color if you want the open box to flash your brand palette.

Standard construction folds the front and side walls from a single hinged blank, so the box also packs flat if you order the collapsible variant. If freight cost matters more than a fixed structure, read the collapsible rigid box page before deciding.

The insert does half the work

A magnetic box with the product loose inside undoes its own first impression. We cut EVA foam, cardboard or satin-wrapped inserts to hold the product centered and facing up when the lid opens. Tell us what goes inside and we engineer the insert with the box, not after it.

Common questions

Will the magnets affect electronics or cards?

No. The fields are small and localized to the flap edge; phones, SSDs and bank cards are unaffected in normal handling.

Can the lid open flat for display?

Yes. We can set the hinge so the lid folds back 180 degrees for counter display instead of stopping upright.

What is the minimum order?

Rigid boxes run on a 50-unit minimum, and unit price falls fast after 250 because the die and wrap setup amortize across the run.
