Jiffy Bag
Padded bubble mailers for protected small shipments.
A jiffy bag is a padded mailer for small, slightly fragile items: the bubble lining cushions, the self-seal strip closes it, and it posts flat and cheap.

“Low minimums were the whole reason we tried them. 250 pouches to test a flavor, then 5,000 when it took off — same bag, same print, no drama.”
“We sent them a candle jar and a Pinterest board. Two weeks later we had rigid boxes that made a $28 candle feel like a $60 one. Our repeat rate went up and honestly the box is half the reason.”
The middle ground of shipping
Between a flat envelope and a box sits the padded mailer, and an enormous share of e-commerce lives exactly there. Books, cosmetics, phone cases, cables, jewelry in boxes, small electronics: none need corrugated walls, all need more than paper. The bubble lining absorbs the drops and the sorting machinery; the kraft face takes a label, a stamp and your brand; the self-seal strip closes the whole transaction in two seconds.
Postage is the quiet saving. Most padded mailers ship at large-letter or small-parcel rates that a box cannot reach.
Padding grades and honest limits
Standard bubble lining protects against scuffs, edge knocks and the general violence of automated sorting. It does not protect against crushing; a padded mailer under a heavy parcel transmits the load. Glass, ceramics and anything with a screen belong in a box with a fitted insert. The practical test: if the item survives a one-meter drop to carpet bare, it will survive the network in a padded mailer.
Paper-padded versions replace the bubble film with pleated kraft, making the whole mailer curbside-recyclable. Protection is slightly lower, sustainability optics considerably higher, and for books and soft goods the difference in protection is academic.
Printing the kraft face
The kraft or white outer prints in full color, and because the face is flat, artwork reads cleanly, better than on a gusseted bag. Brands that ship mostly small items often make the padded mailer their primary branded packaging, with a matching tissue wrap inside doing the presentation work.
