When a clamshell is the right call
A clamshell earns its place when the product needs to be seen and stay sealed on a busy shelf: hand tools, accessories, electronics, toys. The clear shell is the display, the snap or seal is the tamper resistance, and the peg hole turns any pegboard into shelf space. If those three things matter, a carton can't compete.
Hinged or two-piece
A hinged clamshell is one molded piece that folds shut, cheap and quick to pack, good for lighter goods. A two-piece blister seals a formed bubble to a printed card, which holds heavier items firmly and gives you a full-color branded backer. Pick by weight and how much printed real estate you want.
