Why foam still owns hot takeout
Board breathes and conducts; foam does neither. An EPS clamshell holds a hot meal at serving temperature far longer than a paper box, does not go soggy under a saucy dish, and costs less per unit than any coated-board alternative. For curries, stews, loaded fries and anything that steams, that combination is why the format persists despite the material's reputation.
The hinged lid is part of the performance: it snaps shut in one motion at a busy pass and seals well enough to survive a delivery bag tipping sideways.
Compartments keep the plate a plate
Single-cavity boxes suit one-pot meals. Two- and three-compartment builds keep rice from the curry and slaw from the fries, which matters more than it sounds; a meal that arrives mixed reads as careless even when it tastes fine. Sizes run from a single entree up to full-plate and family portions, with matching hinged lids throughout.
An honest word on the material
EPS foam is banned or restricted in some cities and states, and the list grows. If your area restricts it, or your customers push back, the practical alternatives are bagasse (sugarcane fiber) clamshells and coated-board boxes; both hold heat less well but compost or recycle. Sizing and ordering
Stock sizes ship fast in bulk cases; custom-printed lids are possible at volume for chains. Most independents run a small, a large and a three-compartment as their whole lineup.
