Smell-proof is a system, not a material
Odor escapes packaging by two routes: through the film itself, and past the closure. A bag is only smell-proof if both are shut. Standard poly bags fail the first test, aroma molecules migrate straight through the plastic, and cheap zippers fail the second. Our build closes both: a true high-barrier laminate with a foil or metallised core that odor cannot cross, and a full-width press-to-close zipper with enough tracks to seal against a determined squeeze.
The practical test is a nose at point-blank range on a filled, sealed bag. That is the test this spec passes.
Who needs it and what to add

Coffee, spices, pet treats and pungent foods run the same construction for the opposite reason: keeping aroma in is keeping freshness in. Matte black is the format's standard face, opaque, discreet and premium, with the printing options covered under black mylar bags.
Spec details that matter
The barrier only works if the heat seal at the base is clean and the zipper engages fully, so we test seal integrity per run. Sizes run from 3.5 g single-serve up to bulk formats, and the film is food-grade throughout. Full-color print, spot gloss and metallic accents all sit over the barrier without compromising it. Tear notches sit above the zipper so opening never breaches the reclosable seal.
Does smell-proof also mean moisture and light-proof?
