The magnet is what people remember. Two small magnets hide under the wrap so the lid pulls closed on its own and holds through shipping and handling.

Everything else is built around that close: a rigid greyboard body, a wrap in your finish, and an insert sized so the product sits still when the box travels.

  • Concealed magnets for a clean, snap-shut close
  • Book-style or flap lids on a rigid wrapped body
  • Foil, emboss and spot-UV branding on the lid
  • Foam, board or molded-pulp insert to fit the product

Why the magnet matters

People remember the close. Two thin magnets, hidden under the paper wrap on the lid and the base, pull the box shut and hold it there. There's no tuck, no tab, no tape, just a soft snap. That single detail is why magnetic rigid boxes get used for launches, gifting, and anything a customer is meant to keep.

The magnets are concealed, so the outside stays clean. You feel them; you don't see them.

How it's built

The body is the same rigid greyboard as any luxury rigid box: a thick chipboard core, formed into walls, wrapped in your chosen paper. The lid is usually book-style, hinged along one edge so it folds back like a cover, with the magnet at the opening edge. We can also do a straight flap lid if you prefer.

Wall thickness and magnet strength scale with the box. A small jewelry box needs a light pull; a large box holding a few pounds of product needs stronger magnets so the lid doesn't gap.

Finishes and inserts

Foil, emboss, and spot-UV all work on the wrap. The lid is the panel customers see first, so most brands put the logo there.

Inside, a fitted insert keeps the contents from sliding when the lid is shut. Foam suits hard, irregular products; a board tray suits flat or boxed items; molded pulp suits a more sustainable build.

These boxes also ship flat in some collapsible builds, which cuts your freight and storage. Tell us the size, the weight you're packing, and the look you want, and we'll proof it before printing. Start a quote.
