The one-second gift box
A pillow box arrives flat and becomes a package in one squeeze: the curved ends tuck inward and hold shut on their own spring, no tape, no glue, no training. That speed is the format's whole economy, an events team can pack five hundred favors in an afternoon, and the curved silhouette does the decorating, reading gift-like without any added dressing.
Kraft stock adds its own message: natural, uncoated, recyclable, and cheap enough for genuine bulk.
What fits, what does not
The format's geometry favors things that are small, flattish or forgiving: jewelry, gift cards, hair accessories, socks, sweets, seed packets, event tokens. The pinch at the curved ends means tall or rigid-cornered items fight the closure. Sizes run from voucher scale to roughly palm-plus width; beyond that the spring of the curve weakens and a kraft gift box serves better.
One honest note: the tuck closure is convenience, not security. For posted goods, seal the curve with a sticker, which doubles as branding, or step up to a taped format.
Decorating the curve
The flat face prints well in one or two colors, logos, names, dates, and foil stamping on kraft is the favor-market favorite. Ribbon cinched at the middle turns the pillow into a bow-tied present. Do they really need no assembly?
