Fragile as chalk, sold on color
A bath bomb is compressed powder, it chips like chalk and crumbles under a point load, and its entire sales pitch is visual: the swirl, the pastel, the glitter. So its packaging has to do two contradictory things at once: cushion the sphere from every direction while keeping the color on show. Every good bath bomb format is a different resolution of that tension.
The format ladder
Shrink wrap is the base layer: a tight clear film that holds the sphere together, keeps moisture out (a humid bathroom shelf will slowly kill an unwrapped bomb), and shows everything. Window cartons add crush protection and a print face, with a die-cut aperture framing the wrapped bomb, the market-stall-to-retail step. Tubes cradle a bomb or a stack of three in a cylinder, see round cardboard boxes, and read gift-ready. Multi-bomb gift sets sit in fitted-cavity trays inside a lidded box, each sphere in its own well.
Moisture is the quiet spec throughout: even boxed bombs keep their shrink layer, because the fizz reaction only gets one chance.
Natural positioning, matching materials
Most bath bomb brands sell a natural story, and kraft board, one or two-color print and compostable film keep the packaging on-message; the same register as our kraft soap boxes. A sticker label on a plain wrap is the entry format for makers at market scale, with printed cartons at reorder volume.
