Granola Bag
Granola pouches with windows and resealable zips.
Granola needs a moisture barrier so the clusters stay crisp and a zip so the bag reseals. A window shows the product before the customer buys.
- Barrier film keeps granola crisp
- Resealable zip
- Window to show the product
- Kraft or full-color print
Kraft reads wholesome; full-color prints the brand.
“Low minimums were the whole reason we tried them. 250 pouches to test a flavor, then 5,000 when it took off — same bag, same print, no drama.”
“We sent them a candle jar and a Pinterest board. Two weeks later we had rigid boxes that made a $28 candle feel like a $60 one. Our repeat rate went up and honestly the box is half the reason.”
Three features, one crisp product
Granola fails in a predictable way: moisture gets in, clusters go soft, and the second bowl disappoints. The bag is the whole defense. A barrier film blocks the moisture, a press-to-close zipper reseals the bag between breakfasts, and a tear notch opens it cleanly the first time. Everything else on the bag is marketing; those three are the product protection.
Stand-up pouches are the format of choice because granola is sold standing on a shelf and stored standing in a pantry. The gusset base holds up to a kilo without slumping.
The window question
A window sells granola better than photography does; clusters, nuts and fruit are their own advertisement. The trade-off is technical: a clear window is a gap in the barrier layer, so for long shelf lives we fit a high-clarity barrier film in the window zone rather than plain PET. Kraft-look bags with an oval window are the category's dominant shelf pattern for a reason, though a full-print matte bag stands out precisely because it breaks that pattern.
Print and film choices
Kraft paper-look laminate reads wholesome and suits farmers-market positioning. Full-color gloss or matte laminates carry photographic branding for retail chains. Both run digitally from about 100 units, so testing two designs against each other costs little. If your granola brand also sells coffee or trail mix, shared bag dimensions across products simplify filling equipment and shelf presence.
How long will granola keep in these bags?
With the barrier film and a proper heat seal, months rather than weeks; exact life depends on your recipe's oil content. Send us a filled sample and we can advise on the film spec honestly.
