Film, base and food safety
The bag is food-safe clear film, crisp enough to stand open for filling; compostable film is available with a slight haze. The base insert is food-grade board sized to standard and jumbo cupcake footprints, with a well that keys the case in place so the cake cannot slide to the corner. Closure is a twist tie, ribbon or bow, resealable by nature, or a heat seal for retail counters that need tamper evidence.
A printed tag threaded onto the ribbon carries names, dates or flavor and turns the favor into place-setting stationery.
When to step up to a box
Bags suit single cakes with standard swirls. Tall decorated toppers, fondant work and multiples belong in windowed cupcake boxes with fitted inserts, and full arrangements in bouquet boxes.
