Small carton, exacting brief
A contact lens box is among the smallest cartons in regulated packaging, and everything about it is fit. Blister packs must sit in a stack that cannot shift, a folded leaflet must store flat without jamming the flap, and the whole carton must open cleanly in a bathroom at 6 am without scissors. We build from your actual blister sample, sized to the count per box, 6, 30 or 90-day supplies each get their own geometry.
Rattle is the failure signal. A carton that rattles tells the customer, and the regulator, that the fit was never engineered.
Regulatory furniture, placed early
Lens boxes carry mandatory information: base curve, diameter, power range boxes, batch and expiry, CE or FDA marks by market, and often a color-coding system across a power range. We reserve those zones in the template before design begins, so the brand look never has to be squeezed around them later. Tamper-evident end flaps are standard; Braille embossing is added where the market requires it, as with our pharmaceutical boxes.
Power-range color systems deserve care: a pharmacist finds the right box by color at speed, so we proof the color set together to keep steps distinguishable under shelf lighting.
Brand systems across SKUs
A lens brand may run dozens of SKUs, spheres, torics, dailies, monthlies, and the carton system has to scale. One structural design with a disciplined print grid lets every variant print from the same die, keeping tooling cost flat as the range grows. What is the minimum run?
Digital runs from a few hundred suit trials and new-market registrations; volume runs move to plate print with no design change.
